Baguio City Trip

Published by neil under friends, photography, vacation on July 28, 2008

Our good friend Stephen invited us for a weekend getaway to Philippines’ highest city. We stopped over at Thunderbird Resort La Union before proceeding to higher altitude.

Congested Reality

Baguio looks congested already. I am not really the most reliable guy to comment since I don’t go there much myself. It’s still cold though. Dark skies usually covered the city during our stay. It must be the weather, or it must be me. I prefer to think the former.

The whole stay was fun thanks to the great company of friends and family.

So thanks again to Stephen and the Caasi family for having us over. I have to thank Mr. Danny Caasi (Stephen’s dad who we celebrated his 1st year of passing away) for nurturing my mom’s spiritual health in her early days as a Christian. Indeed the seeds he has planted has grown thanks to his decision of allowing God to do great and mighty things through him. God is indeed faithful.

There are some other photos of different subject during the trip, but I’ll make a separate post for them but the entire album is available here:

My friend and fellow DSLR enthusiast / photographer Jaybz has uploaded his set from his Canon 40D. He has nice landscape and profile photos of the Tagaytay Highlands.

Visit his flickr page here.

Good work man!

Are not here yet…

Check out his flickr page for updates! I am publishing this post to put pressure on him! =P

He’s also a photography enthusiast so check out his shots! He’s got superb ones and would generously give away Canon gear to those who comment good on him over the net.

Mwehehehe!

Tagaytay Highlands

Many thanks to Melai for tagging me along with some other GTS friends in Tagaytay Highlands for the weekend! The place is wonderful and it’s my first time to set foot their. There were no casualties. Hehe.

Tagaytay Highlands

Four of us guys (Thanks to Ted and Mike) played Wii, Wii, and even more Wii. Yoshi was the lead character. The others were just extras. Mwehehe.

Tagaytay Highlands

The view was magnificent from the Condo unit where we stayed in. I remembered my UP college prof where she said Tagaytay Highlands feels like a foreign land. Now I know she wasn’t exaggerating.

The kids were live entertainment for us. I introduced myself as Tito Pogi to Kian. Mwahaha! And she happily (and innocently) obliged. I love kids. Haha! Mika in her tender age won’t be able to grasp it and I’m sure sir JC would do anything in his power to keep her off me! :-P

One more thing, there were 3 of us who had DSLR’s that time. They had zoom lenses. Me? I’m stock material, babuh!

This is JB’s Canon 100-300mm USM Lens. Wow!

I’m still uploading the other pictures so be patient as they come. =)

Yes, we had one. Thankfully, we did.

Thankfully Melai was able to provide a nice venue for us. So a big thanks to her. =) And thanks to Ms. Peapie for inviting all us.

Grabbers, please give a link back to my site. I am requiring this. There will be no exemptions.  All photos are protected by a CC License, you may grab, edit, post, or do whatever you like with it provided you give due credit, which is a simple link back to my site.

That isn’t too much to ask now, is it? (*This is the kindest way of saying it. I’ve deleted my original post. Muwahaha!)

Too bad the others weren’t around anymore.

Missions Possible : FCF Youth Camp 2008

Published by neil under Faith Christian Fellowship, friends, outings, vacation on May 21, 2008

Faith Christian Fellowship recently held their Youth Camp where I got involved with.

The place is nostalgic since this was where EASTMAR held their youth camp 10 or 11 years ago. This is where my good friend Jai and his brother Jet met. We’ve crossed paths several years after that and we play together in one band  on several occasions.

These guys rocked. I have a HUGE gallery of pictures from the event. Resident musician and photographer still. Hehe.

Face the waves of reality: It’s not about you.

Faith Christian Fellowship recently held their 2008 Youth Camp with the theme “Missions Possible: Out of the Comfort Zone”.

I was able to join the camp, and it has been a fruitful one. Discussions centered on God’s global glory and was utilized using the “Cat and Dog Theology” program. It’s simple but important to take note of.

  • Cat - my master takes care of me, he feeds me, he shelters me, he loves me. I must be God.
  • Dog - my master takes care of me, he feeds me, he shelters me, he loves me. You must be God.

Of course it goes deeper beyond this simple definition.

I’m just grateful that my good friend Jojo has lead this awareness to our young people. I find it that orienting and educating Christian youth about the need for missions is not something to be overlooked. 180 Degrees does this through music and missions. Our church youth can start by praying or giving a portion of their allowances. Big things start small. It is their contribution to God’s greater glory.

God is a glory hog. No mockery intended. He simply deserves it.

More photos to follow. There’s just too many of them.

Faith Christian Fellowship - Labor Day Outing

Published by neil under Faith Christian Fellowship, friends, photography, vacation on May 4, 2008

We had a blast in Laiya Batangas.

I enjoyed the beach despite losing my new white slippers! Good thing I have a spare pair in the car. As the resident, non-official, confused, and extremely handsome photographer, I did my duties in taking pictures of these vain people. Muwahaha!

Kiddin’ aside, the coral reefs we looked at the bottom below with all the fishes swimming around was quite an experience. It’s truly an amazing sight site to behold.

Just like this woman below.

Thailand Vacation December 2007

I finally found a plugin that integrates my Flickr account and my site running on Wordpress. It’s a nice and straightforward plugin that allows my photos from flickr to be displayed here as an album. So there, cheers!

View my photos here.

This is a glimpse of one of the guitar stores in Bangkok, Thailand. For less than 5,000php, you can get yourself a guitar that’s worth 10,000php here.

Sucks? That isn’t the end of it.

Anyway, there exists 2 galleries here and I will be maintaining my flickr one and transferring everything else there soon. For now, both Gallery and Photos will exist.
