Ebox Resurrection

Published by neil under PC Mod on July 28, 2008

Ebox has retired

After sometime, Ebox has finally retired. He has gone through wear and tear after opening the front face of this casing several times for changes, adjustments, and upgrade.

I did not want to spend on a new casing and I wanted to get creative so I once again dawned on spray paint cans, sandpapers, masking tapes, and a LOT OF PATIENCE. Mind you, the last requirement was the hardest of it all.

I scouted one of the best chassis I’ve ever had and it was pretty dirty and rusty so I cleaned it up. Too bad I wasn’t able to take a picture of its previous state. But here’s a photo of it’s dissected organs minus the front, top, and side panels.

Preparation

So as you can see, a lot of work needs to be done.

My “old” chassis too did not have a front USB panel and I wanted to get one from it since it has proved useful to me a lot of times and I wouldn’t want to miss it. So I scouted and found Aerocool FP01 panel. My good friend Ramona Simons ordered it for me during their stay in the US and it has arrived in good shape and was wonderful as I expected.

Aerocool FP01 has arrived! Aerocool FP01

To be honest, I was initailly deceived into believing the LCD panel would automatically come up once you push the tray. Apparently, it just ejects it and your good hands have to do labor. That isn’t so bad. It’s still cool!

This is the final output. Apologies it isn’t a step by step work in progress as I had all my patience poured into spray painting instead of photographing every important moment of this project.

Ebox's new chassis

It’s pretty simple but I love my work and knowing I’ve put blood and sweat on this beast.

All Photos can be found here.

Ebox now stands once again.

Stephen’s Ride

Published by neil under friends, toys on July 28, 2008

Stephen is a good friend with a great need…

The need for speed.

He’s invested on this for keeps…his words.

I hardly know the specs of the car except that it sports a MIVEC engine.

It’s a pretty nasty ride. Very reflective of its owner.

Congratulations on your toy man!

Baguio City Trip

Published by neil under friends, photography, vacation on July 28, 2008

Our good friend Stephen invited us for a weekend getaway to Philippines’ highest city. We stopped over at Thunderbird Resort La Union before proceeding to higher altitude.

Congested Reality

Baguio looks congested already. I am not really the most reliable guy to comment since I don’t go there much myself. It’s still cold though. Dark skies usually covered the city during our stay. It must be the weather, or it must be me. I prefer to think the former.

Women Baguio Outing - July 2008

The whole stay was fun thanks to the great company of friends and family.

So thanks again to Stephen and the Caasi family for having us over. I have to thank Mr. Danny Caasi (Stephen’s dad who we celebrated his 1st year of passing away) for nurturing my mom’s spiritual health in her early days as a Christian. Indeed the seeds he has planted has grown thanks to his decision of allowing God to do great and mighty things through him. God is indeed faithful.

There are some other photos of different subject during the trip, but I’ll make a separate post for them but the entire album is available here:

The Dark Knight

We’ve all been anticipating The Dark Knight ever since we’ve heard of it.

Here are one liners from my head.

It is not for children.

It is dark.

It is violent.

It is disturbing.

It is a good movie to watch in cinemas (meaning they’re cinema worthy and not a DVD movie thing)

It is really GOOD!!!!

Man, I cannot believe how twisted everything went and how it is disturbing still until the end. You really should see how Heath Ledger pulled it off as Joker. It is sweeeeet!

I think this is the darkest Batman movie to date.

Rest in peace Heath. Your final role left a deep mark to all of us.

*I’m not really sure if this was Heath’s final role as an actor. He did not kiss Batman in this movie.

Is definitely Paul Gilbert.

Among the rock electric guitarists out there, he is definitely my favorite.

Got this from a fan who is fond of collecting Paul Gilbert pictures. =)

Ichigo Hollow

This is a good guy. Believe me, he really is.

Awesome.

Ichigo is tasked to save souls from those who devour them…until he became one. It would have been fun if he had a more monstrous form of this one.
