Bleach Mouse – Anime Inspired Mouse
This is a Mouse Mod. Yup. I don’t want to dwell into PC mods just yet, although some designs are coming in now…
The inspiration…
The result:
The process:
My victim is the A4tech’s R7 wireless mouse. With its warranty expired, I murdered it with no hesitation at all.
As you can see, it’s rather well used. Both its left and right buttons are now faded with sweat, odor, and bacteria coming from my fingers (and the fingers of other people). DO NOT ask me what I usually hold.

On to dissection! Opening the mouse is relatively easy. Take out the batteries and the warranty stickers and it would reveal the screws. Screw that mouse right there! Yeah!
Technically, there are 4 parts. Plastic and rubber parts are 3 in total. You have to figure out how to remove them from each other. Our victim will be the uppermost one. As you’ve seen in this picture, I have already sanded the upper portion removing dirt and other foreign materials and smoothen the surface so the paint will easily stick to it.

Pylox flat white. Acrylic Lacquer. Nice color. Nice grip. Nice smell……
Did the “pssst…psssst” and the “psssssssssst…” method of spray painting. I am not the best at this! Mind you I had to repeat it several times. Also, several thin coats is INDEED better than one thick coat.
Let it dry and use your sexy, naked mouse!
Cover with sticker paper or masking tape. Draw your layout. Notice that I’ve included the teeth but I’ve decided to disregard it in the finalization of the project. Being OC, I am still wondering if I decided correctly on that.
Cut your drawings so that the bottom (the white painted portion of the mouse) is revealed. We are aiming to paint the whole thing with black so make sure the portions you want to retain as white is protected with tape. Again, I have shaky hands. At this point, I forgot to take a snapshot of it so apologies.
Spray away!!! I used RJ London Acrylic Epoxy. Dull (or Flat) Black. I think Lacquer is better and I have read that Acrylic Lacquer and Acrylic Epoxy do not mix well. I think it’s true. I did not buy these spray cans at the same time and want to save money, so there I gave it a shot.
Be patient (something I’m never good at!) and let dry.
Remove tape and if satisfied, apply clear coating.
I think it looks more like a tiger black and white stripe than Ichigo’s hollow mask in black and white. hehe. I deliberate with myself and find it still good. Mind you that I had to sand, re-tape and re-paint several times before I got it into this. After all the painting and sanding, make sure you are satisfied and spray it with a Clear coat. I used Acrylic Lacquer for clear coating.
“Looks like Ichigo’s mask.” I tell myself…
Hehe.
BANKAI!!!
The mouse is not perfect. But it’s accomplished.
